I recently had the opportunity to dine at Trainwreck Saloon and wanted to share my thoughts on their food, specifically the Mexican raviolis and the bacon cheddar BBQ bison burger with seasoned fries.
Let's start with the Mexican raviolis as the appetizer. They were a unique twist on traditional ravioli, filled with nacho cheese that melted into a delightful gooey texture. The accompanying sauce, which seemed to be a sour cream base mixed with salsa, provided a tangy and spicy kick. It was certainly an interesting choice for a stoner snack and I found it to be quite enjoyable.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the bacon cheddar BBQ bison burger with seasoned fries. While the seasoned fries were exceptional and unlike any I've had before, the burger itself left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the burger was smothered in what appeared to be canned cheddar with a paste like appearance/texture which they referred to as "soft cheddar." The cheddar paste taste overwhelmed the overall flavor and left me feeling a bit queasy. The excessive amount of cheddar paste also made the burger feel heavy and unappetizing.
Overall, my experience at Trainwreck Saloon was a mixed bag. While the Mexican raviolis were a tasty and unique starter, the bacon cheddar BBQ bison burger fell short due to the overpowering cheddar paste. However, I can confidently say that their seasoned fries were outstanding and worth trying…
We had a large chicken wings plate and a huge salmon salad bowl and beers. Requested the dips on the side. Hot honey tasted weird for me, should have gotten good ol barbeque sauce. I think the place is too dark we can't see the menu card at all. Overall, the dinner was good and they close later than most restaurants
The barbecue pulled pork nachos were delicious! They are billed as an appetizer, but in actuality, they suffice as an entree! Very generous portion of the pulled pork. Our server Cindy was very attentive. It was quite apparent to us that she was genuine interested in our dining experience.
Good atmosphere and very good food. Also the service was top notch. I had the Bacon Cheddar BBQ Burger, with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was excellent, with a good smoky flavor to the bacon. The only downside was they put cheddar spread on it instead of a real slice of cheddar cheese. I thought that was tacky and cheap. The fries were perfectly done, and very good. I was actually quite impressed with the bun they put the burger on. It wasn't the cheap grocery store bun a lot of places use. I'll definitely go here again!
Great little bar and casual American dining spot. There's a nice bar area up front, with an actual red caboose in the back serving as a bar for the back patio area (see photo). The food is good, service is too. You can also get bison burgers (note the buffalo on the outside of the building). There are also display cases with some sports memorabilia for sports fans. Overall, very nice, fun, casual place.
Excellent burger cooked to perfection, and the seasoned fries were amazing. Service was friendly and attentive. I appreciated our server leaving the handheld device at the table, as opposed to 'hovering' while we entered the tip. Prices are reasonable, and atmosphere is fun. A great quick hearty lunch!
One suggestion to management: put basic condiments on the table! Our server was very busy with the lunch rush, and I resisted asking for more ketchup, S&P, and mustard.
It was a little bit cold inside. The food was good and staff was nice. Nothing was outstanding really but I would go back again.
Nice spot in Brentwood. Outdoor Seating. Photo Ops too.
We sat outside for a drink. We didn't sample food. The wing sauces looked average. I do want to try the Hot Wings. I would probably get a burger next time as well.
